Just as an update, tried the dx update listed- same result (broken demos 4,5,8). Also for clarification, demo 8 runs, but shows no shaders under 2.1.3, but completely MAVs under 2.1.4.

@Jiffy: Maybe you should alos update your graphics drivers. Otherwise it could be because of missing DirectX DLLs. Well, maybe, but that wouldn't explain why when I use the 2.1.1 beta instead, the older demos work- assuming they do the same thing. Oh- and I tried it again, (went to 2.1.3, then back...

I get this error as well, though I can run demos 4, 5, and 6 from 2.1.1, I can't from 2.1.3. There is something else going on I think.
